Working at Bonatti means becoming part of dynamic team committed to achieving challenging objectives in international and multicultural contexts.
The JV between Bonatti and Petrofac, an international company providing services to the Oil & Gas sector, was awarded an EPC project by Sonatrach to extend the life of the gas reservoir at Alrar in south-east Algeria, which has been operational since 1987.
The contract, which has an overall value of more than 650 million dollars, includes Engineering services, material procurement, construction and commissioning works for the creation of new field separation and compression plants.
This is an important step for the growth of Bonatti in Algeria, in that it is the first time the company has been able to work directly on a prestigious project of this nature for a client such as Sonatrach.
Subramanian Sarma, General Manager of the Onshore Engineering & Construction Unit of Petrofac, said: “We are very proud to be a Bonatti partner and to be able to work with them on this project for Sonatrach in Alrar. The acquisition of the project adds to a long history of Petrofac successes in Algeria, where we have been operating for over 15 years. Petrofac is meticulous in its approach to its projects and always aims to provide safe and effective solutions for clients such as Sonatrach, who appreciate our high quality standards”.
Paolo Ghirelli, Chairman of Bonatti, in turn said: “Petrofac and Bonatti have joined together to provide a competitive solution for this project, which is already our second EPC contract in Alrar. Together with Petrofac, we have accumulated extensive experience in Algeria, where we started working in 1998, and share a common approach to the use of local resources in our commitment to developing the Algerian national energy sector. We are looking forward to working together with Petrofac on this important project”.
