For the exploitation of these deposits, the company has a seawater impulsion system that feeds the facilities and a Concentrate pipeline that returns the copper concentrate to the mechanized wharf located in the town of Michilla, 110 km north of the city of Antofagasta, where shipment is made.
To mitigate the effects of corrosion, Minera Centinela has decided to replace sections totalizing approximately 20 km, between the current pumping stations No. 1 (EB1) and Pumping Station No. 3 (EB-3), with a new Steel pipeline.
